New Rountree Temple Of Praise, “Home Of Fresh Start” (The Church Where Jesus is Real and The People Are Loved) located in Powellsville, North Carolina is led by Bishop R. Elliott Dixon, Sr.
We are a bible believing Spirit ministry that has a heart for people and believes that we should always Love everyone.
Core Values
Since 2000, we have strived to create a strong community driven by the teachings of Jesus Christ, which are the guiding force in the lives of our growing congregation.
Through our worship, activities, and special community, we give our members the chance to become fully immersed in the wisdom and teachings of the Lord.
Statement Of Faith
We believe in the inspired and only infallible written Word of the only God Who is eternally existent in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Our faith is in the blessed hope, which is the rapture of the Church of God in Christ at His return.
We understand that we are saved by repentance and faith in the precious blood of Jesus Christ and that regeneration by the Holy Ghost is necessary for personal salvation.
We also believe that in answer to prayer, the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing for the human body. According to Acts 2:4,, we hold fast that the baptism of the Holy Spirit is given to believers who ask for it.
Finally, we believe that the Christian is enabled to live a holy and separated life in the present world by the sanctifying power of the Holy Ghost.

Our Leaders
BISHOP R. ELLIOTT DIXON, SR.
Bishop R. Elliott Dixon, Sr is a native of Williamston NC. He was educated in the Martin County Schools. He attended LCC in Lexington, KY earning AAS in Marketing. He later earned BS in Management from the University of Kentucky. In religious trading includes forty years of preaching ministry and having served in many positions within the Church of God in Christ. He studied at Freelandia Bible College and Seminary.
Bishop Dixon later obtained Doctor of Divinity designation from Dominion Theological Seminary. He was consecrated Bishop in 2012.
As an avowed apologist, Bishop Dixon vehemently defends the basic tenets of the faith. He has extensive pastoral experience having served in Dexheim FRG, Lexington Ky, and Durham NC. He seeks to minister to the world as a servant to the whole man. Bishop believes the world must be evangelized. He is zealous in his desire to win souls for Christ. Bishop is very serious about his commitment to Christ.
Bishop Dixon has had radio broadcasts in Clarksville, TN, Lexington, KY, Paris, KY, and Durham, NC. His favorite personal scripture is 1John3:2. His ministry scripture is Acts 20:27.
Bishop Dixon is a preacher, teacher, and evangelist. He was raised in the traditions of holiness and is devout in the applications of such. Bishop Dixon was licensed to preach by the late Bishop L. B. Davenport, ordained by Bishop Ithiell Clemons, and consecrated to the Bishopric by the late Senior Bishop John Davis of the COGIC INTL.
